Privacy Policy
Attorney review pending. This policy describes the intended BoxedBots data practices for the current marketplace architecture.
1. What we collect
We may collect account information such as name, email address, authentication and verification records; transaction and subscription records; saved software, requests and support communications; seller information; device, browser, IP address and security logs; and information you voluntarily submit. Payment-card data may be processed by a payment provider rather than stored directly by BoxedBots.
2. How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, verify identity and email, provide purchases and subscriptions, operate the marketplace, process requests, prevent fraud and abuse, communicate about transactions and security, provide support, comply with law, enforce agreements, improve the Services and understand aggregate marketplace demand.
3. Sharing
We may share information with service providers that help us operate hosting, email, security, payments, analytics, support and similar functions; with sellers when necessary to fulfill a purchase or provide support; when required by law or valid legal process; to protect users, BoxedBots or others; or as part of a merger, financing, sale or transfer of the business. We do not sell personal information for money. If our practices materially change, this policy will be updated before the new practice applies where required.
4. Marketplace demand data
BoxedBots may provide sellers with aggregated or de-identified demand information, such as how many shoppers are looking for a feature combination. We do not intend to expose an individual shopper’s identity to sellers merely because that shopper submitted a marketplace request.
5. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain transaction and acceptance records, meet legal/accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and enforce agreements. Retention periods may differ by category. Information may remain in backups for a limited period after deletion from active systems.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information and Services, including access controls, password hashing, verification controls and security logging. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for safeguarding their credentials and notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.
7. Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of eligible account information, subject to identity verification and legal retention requirements. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection or appeal. BoxedBots will provide a privacy-request method before public launch.
8. Cookies and analytics
BoxedBots may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for sign-in, security, preferences, cart/session operation and measurement. If we later use advertising or optional tracking technologies requiring additional consent, we will provide appropriate controls and update this policy.
9. Children
BoxedBots is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information was collected without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
10. International users
BoxedBots is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable legal protections.
11. Policy changes
We may update this policy as the Services evolve. Material changes will be communicated as required by law. We may retain the policy version associated with account acceptance and important transactions.
